Hexagram 62 — 小过 (Xiǎo Guò), Small Exceeding

Above: ☳ 震 Thunder Below: ☶ 艮 Mountain

The Judgment

Small exceeding — minor deviations succeed now; like the flying bird, stay low and grounded for great fortune.

The Image (Daxiang)

Thunder above the mountain — err toward respect in conduct, grief in mourning, thrift in spending.—— 《周易·大象传》(The Image Commentary)

The Tuan Commentary

The Six Line Texts

In Plain Terms

Small deviations OK — stay low-key, fly below the radar. When you receive this hexagram, hold the judgment beside your question: it describes a posture and a season, not a script.
