Hexagram 49 — 革 (Gé), Revolution

Above: ☱ 兑 Lake Below: ☲ 离 Fire

The Judgment

Molting — when the time is ripe, radical change wins trust; transformation done at the right moment removes regret.

The Image (Daxiang)

Fire within the lake — the noble person orders the calendar and makes the times clear.—— 《周易·大象传》(The Image Commentary)

The Tuan Commentary

In Plain Terms

Revolution is ripe — change at the right day. When you receive this hexagram, hold the judgment beside your question: it describes a posture and a season, not a script.
