Hexagram 41 — 损 (Sǔn), Decrease
Above: ☶ 艮 Mountain Below: ☱ 兑 Lake
The Judgment
有孚,元吉,无咎,可贞,利有攸往。曷之用?二簋可用享。
Decrease below to increase above — sincere simplification brings great luck; two plain bowls suffice for the offering.
The Image (Daxiang)
「山下有泽,损;君子以惩忿窒欲。」A lake below the mountain — the noble person curbs anger and dams desire.—— 《周易·大象传》(The Image Commentary)
The Tuan Commentary

In Plain Terms
Subtract — less, done sincerely, is more. When you receive this hexagram, hold the judgment beside your question: it describes a posture and a season, not a script.
